I started my life in Lodge Grass Montana, the older of two children. My father was a heavy equipment operator in the earth moving business which meant moving from one highway construction project, railroad construction project, or earth filled damn project to another in the west during the depression years and during WWII. I graduated from high school in Stockton, CA after attending some thirty different schools in ten of our western states. I enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school, progressed though the ranks from Private to Lieutenant Colonel. While on active duty I earned an undergraduate degree in a boot strap program. I settled in northern Virginia with my wife, Betty and two children, after leaving the Corps. I returned to school earning a graduate degree in Employee Development & Training. I traveled for a while as a manufacturer's representative prior to making my choice in 1985 to become a full time Realtor. |

My fly fishing hobby has led to a strong interest in conservation. I support and participate in the Coastal Conservation Association, Trout Unlimited, and the Atlantic Salmon Federation. |

My recently earned SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) is a great source of pride for me. Less than 1% of Realtors hold this designation. I have a great deal of empathy and can identify with those who move to active adult communities and assisted living facilities, after going through a move from a home that we had lived in for 29 years. We moved to an age restricted active adult community in January 2005. |
